I’ve finally decided to make it official. If you view the NextHub SourceForge project page, you’ll find that it now states the following: As of 2010-01-21 18:00:00 CST, this project is no longer under active development. That’s right: NextHub development is indefinitely suspended. Neither Andy nor I have had time to work on it [...] I wrote my own packaging solution in Python for the Digsby SA emoticon package that I’ve been maintaining. I was previously downloading the Gaim SA emote package from the SA emoticon pack site and modifying it manually to fit Digsby, but it didn’t seem right. For some reason, the package has way more emoticons [...] I’ve actually had some time the last few days to work on NextHub. I’m fixing some bugs, making semantic changes, performance improvements, and I’ll be adding some new UI features and making sure that the features we currently have in place are working properly. I’ve been [...] I just thought I’d pop in to mention that the ADC Protocol is no longer in beta. Version 1.0 was posted 12/2, and that’s really exciting. Yay! After taking a break from the project over the last several months, I’ve resumed working some on NextHub (I really like that name ). I’ve reorganized the layout of the files under Subversion, and I’ve fixed a few irritating bugs. I want to fix a few more things that we’ve broken along the way, [...] Our 6 month waiting period is up! After accidentally changing the name of FHub to SexHub, we have yet again changed the name to NextHub. It rhymes, and I think it embodies what we think of the project. It provides the Next generation implementation of the ever popular Direct Connect file-transfer protocol, the ADC [...] Andy’s done a fantastic job working on FHub (SexHub) recently. This is quite possibly the busiest I’ve ever been before. I’m in the process of applying to grad school, taking the hardest semester I’ve ever taken here at UT, and working 15 hours a week on top of that. It’s not easy, and I [...] Progress on FHub has gone slower than expected due to work and more work. I’ve been working on some pretty serious web work outside of my normal 9-5, and there’s a lot that goes into it. Two of my roommates and I are doing all the back-end and database design from scratch (using JSP/servlets), [...] Andy and I are working really hard to get a first release out (0.1.0 alpha) this week. We hope for tomorrow or Thursday. Andy’s worked really hard at getting Lua-based plugins working, and it’s looking great.
